On the edge of the stamp block: German ICE 3, which also run in the Netherlands to international destinations.

Intercity Express, commonly known as ICE, is a high-speed rail system in Germany. It also serves destinations in Austria, France, Belgium, Switzerland and the Netherlands as part of cross-border services. It is the flagship of the German state railway, Deutsche Bahn. ICE fares are fixed for station-to-station connections, on the grounds that the trains have a higher level of comfort. Travelling at speeds up to 320 km/h (200 mph), they are aimed at business travellers and long-distance commuters and marketed by Deutsche Bahn as an alternative to flights.
To overcome the restrictions imposed on the ICE 1 and ICE 2, their successor, the ICE 3, was built to a smaller loading gauge to permit usability throughout the entire European standard gauge network, with the sole exception being the UK's domestic railway network. Unlike their predecessors, the ICE 3 units are built not as trains with separate passenger and power cars, but as electric multiple units with underfloor motors throughout. This also reduced the load per axle and enabled the ICE 3 to comply with the pertinent UIC standard.
The ICE 3 runs for ICE International. ICE International is the international high-speed network and partnership of the German Railways (DB Fernverkehr) and the Dutch Railways (NS International). ICE International is offered between the Netherlands and Germany and between Belgium and Germany.
The ICE runs from Amsterdam Central to Frankfurt (Main) Hbf v.v. (6-7 times a day) via: Amsterdam Centraal — Utrecht Centraal — Arnhem Centraal — Oberhausen Hbf — Duisburg Hbf — Düsseldorf Hbf — Köln Hbf / Köln Messe/Deutz — Frankfurt (Main) Flughafen Fernbahnhof — Frankfurt (Main) Hbf. Train 121 stops at Köln Messe/Deutz, all other trains stop at Köln Hbf. If there are works on the Utrecht-Duisburg line, this train will be diverted and the stops at Arnhem, Oberhausen, Duisburg and Düsseldorf will be cancelled. The train will then make an additional stop in Mönchengladbach instead.
And from Amsterdam Central Station to Basel SBB v.v. (1×/day) via: Amsterdam Centraal — Utrecht Centraal — Arnhem Centraal — Oberhausen Hbf — Duisburg Hbf — Düsseldorf Hbf — Köln Hbf / Köln Messe/Deutz — Frankfurt (Main) Flughafen Fernbahnhof — Mannheim Hbf — Karlsruhe Hbf — Offenburg-Freiburg (Breisgau) Hbf — Basel Bad Bf — Basel SBB* An extra pair of trains runs on Fridays and Sundays during the winter months (ICE 120/ICE 121).

Fyra V250, built by AnsaldoBreda in Italy, was supposed to run in high speed between Amsterdam and Brussels. The order for nineteen Fyra trains was placed in May 2004 and they would be delivered before April 2007. Unfortunately AnsdaldoBreda couldn't comply, so the first trains didn't arrive until spring 2009 and contained only equipment for measuring. The HighSpeed service started 7 September 2009 at a speed of only 160 kph. and ran between Amsterdam and Rotterdam every hour during weekdays. On April 3rd 2011 the line was extended to Breda. By that time the service ran every half hour daily.
Sunday 9 December 2012 the train ran from Amsterdam to Brussels for the first time. From day one there were problems and harly any trains arrived on time. A month after the service began there were still many delays due to technical problems. 17 January 2013 the Amsterdam - Brussels line was no longer run by Fyra trains, but standard intercity trains.
A week after the Belgian Railways announced that they would no longer make use of the Fyra trains, Dutch Railways NS also made clear on 3 June 2013, that they no longer wanted to continue services with Fyra. The Dutch cabinet however first wants to know what the financial and legal consequences are, before this ultimate decision will be taken.

A sheet with European HSTs, among which Fyra.
Fyra was an international high-speed rail service between the Netherlands and Belgium using the AnsaldoBreda V250 train. The service used the HSL-Zuid and HSL 4 railway lines to connect Amsterdam, Schiphol Airport, Rotterdam, Antwerp and Brussels. Continuous technical difficulties suspended the service, and it was eventually permanently halted due to reliability and safety concerns.
The high-profile project was a collaboration between NS International (a joint venture of NS and KLM) and NMBS/SNCB. A Dutch domestic service also using HSL-Zuid was branded under the same name. Despite using the tracks built for high speed trains the service between Amsterdam and Breda used conventional trains propelled by a TRAXX locomotive. Its name was changed into Intercity Direct to avoid confusion with the failed international service.
The name Fyra represents pride, and is derived from the Dutch word fier and the French word fière, both meaning proud. Fyra is also the Swedish word for four, and is said to represent the four important cities which the new trains were intended to serve — Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Antwerp and Brussels.

AnsaldoBreda V250 on a stamp (one of three in sheet) and the edge of a block.

The V250 is a high-speed train, designed by Pininfarina and built by AnsaldoBreda to operate on the Fyra-service, a high speed train of NS International and NMBS/SNCB between Amsterdam and Brussels with a branch to Breda on the newly built HSL-Zuid in the Netherlands and its extension HSL 4 in Belgium. V250s were delivered with a significant delay. Full commercial services with V250 started on 9 December 2012 but stopped only 39 days later on 17 January 2013, after the Belgian Railway Inspection Agency had suspended the operating license. This happened because of safety and structural problems with the construction and maintenance of V250. All were removed from service and sent back to AnsaldoBreda in Italy. In August 2017, Trenitalia purchased all 19 V250 sets to expand its high speed fleet and rebranded them as ETR700s. After being refurbished, they entered service on Frecciargento services, on the Adriatic railway, between Milan and Lecce in 2019. Seventeen sets will be used for services, with the remaining two used as sources of spares.

The baseline design of FLIRT is an electric multiple unit articulated trainset that can come in units of two to twelve cars with two to six motorized axles. The maximum speed is 200 km/h (120 mph). Standard floor height is 57 cm (22.4 in), but 78 cm (30.7 in) high floors are also available for platform heights of 76 cm (29.9 in). The FLIRT train was originally developed for the Swiss Federal Railways and was first delivered in 2004. The trains quickly became a success and were ordered by operators in Algeria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Serbia, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States, and, most recently (2018), Canada.
